I managed to take a few days off work while the kids were on a half-term break so we popped across to London to see some dinosaurs, spacecraft and moon rock, and grabbed a few sneaky geocaches while we were there. On the way back we stopped in Cheltenham to see friends and family and went out to place the geocaching trackable that we found last week in an animal friendly location (as requested by the trackable owner) with a very large dog.
Llanmadoc Hill Walking
Last week we had a cracking outing, again to the far end of the Gower, up on Llanmadoc Hill. We followed a circuit across the hillside with some beautiful, hazy, February views.
Gower Cliff Walking
We went to Rhossili and out to the Worm, Fall Bay, Mewslade Bay and the cliffs in between to hunt for some of the best views in Wales.
Cancelled: XTERRA Wales 2017
I’ve been responding pretty well to training so far this year. Skills have been developing nicely and my fitness and core stability have measurably improved. Numbers are similar to last year, and my left leg is working better. So I was really knocked back when I had an email telling me that this year’s new race for XTERRA (off road triathlon), XTERRA Wales, had been cancelled.
I train for about 6 months to prepare for a big race that I want to perform well in. This year is my 8th consecutive year racing triathlon, and it’s a lot of work (fun, but also work) to prepare myself as best I can. So what do I do now?
Pitton Walking
A sunny, muddy run followed by some greyer, colder walking on the Gower.
Searching Burry Holms
Last weekend we went out to the tip of the Gower again to a tidal island. Dunes, huge beaches and ocean.
