Taking Kim for a run. A run with a nice hill.
Doing stuff we’ve been putting off doing to try to get a sense of achievement from something. Anything.
Kim made doughnuts.
Day 48 of lockdown. Ish.
I miss the sea so we’re going for an appropriately social distanced family ride just to see the sea. And smell the sea. If it smells sea-ey today.
Also, a little virtual reality stuff and thoughts.
Mountain biking locally every other day in a sunny spring is great.
The kids like to be stuck indoors during this lockdown, so it’s even harder getting them out than usual. Annabel loves her mountain bike though so maybe now is the time to start practising some trail skills?
Also, a meteor shower.
Is this the 4th week at home? My mind and body have found a new normal, and they’re both happy and settled with staying at home. I’m getting work done, home stuff done, we’re finding new things to keep us interested and challenged, and it’s great spending so much time at home with family.
We’re healthy, fit, strong and happy, and hopefully we’re keeping ourselves that way. Family vlog!
Week 3? 4? indoors. I was kind of getting used to it but now I really need to get out for a decent run. Want to go for a run?
I will be cheerier next week, I’m sure. Some fun stuff will be delivered for us to try out.
I need to have a chat with myself.
If you haven’t heard of Twitch, it’s a huge place where people play games and other people watch people play games. In fact, it has expanded far beyond that and you can watch people do all sorts of things. Maybe you want to learn how to cross stitch or about 3D printing?
Twitch (and other streaming platforms) are more than this. They are also places where people can connect, we can listen to regular voices in the background while we do things, and communities form. For some people, probably even more so in times like these, they’re a reliable form of social contact.
I thought I’d try to stream on Twitch a little regularly for some of these reasons. We can talk about stuff, or we can just play through some games. Whatevs.
Like everyone else, we’re at home, indoors, for 23 out of 24 hours a day. But we can still run from home, cycle from home, and strength train at home to try to stay healthy, mentally and physically.
So what’s going on? What else can we do at home?
