Sony and Toshiba have joined together to produce just one high definition DVD format. Sony will make the hardware, Toshiba the software. Blu-ray and HD-DVD will not fight it out like VHS and Betamax, thank crap.
Does this mean that without the format war high-def DVD players will make it into our living rooms sooner, and software will be richly available?
