Sky One Sucks

I love the programming on Sky One. It’s great. I love hours and hours of the Simpsons, Star Trek, and Malcolm in the Middle. But I’ve always hated the damn logo in the corner of the screen reminding you that you’re watching Sky One. Yes. Thank you. I know I’m watching Sky One. And it has been worse recently as they advertise every new f*$king thing by adding to this bloody distracting logo. And everyone is copying them. Stop it!
What I’m really peeved about though, is the stupid amount of advertising in the new series of 24. It’s a real-time show, right? So each of the 24 episodes is an hour long, right? No, not any more. On Sky they’re an hour and a quarter long because they need to show more advertising.
24 is an amazing piece of TV, largely because of the maker’s amazing ability to raise the level of tension to an unbearable level and maintain it, week after week. You finish one episode and absolutely must watch the next episode as soon as humanly possible. This doesn’t happen on Sky. Every 10 minutes you have 5 minutes of adverts. So there is no tension.
I’m going to boycott Sky One’s 24 and wait for the DVD.
