  • Wet wet wet

I popped up to Whitesprings to fish yesterday evening, and to see a friend that was visiting. I’ve never seen so much water fall out of the sky. And my umbrella leaks. I spent most of the time feeding the ducklings and sitting in a puddle.

  • Office Photos

Some random photos from my office today. We’re into head and neck anatomy this term. Don’t worry, they’re all plastic. Except the plant. That’s just thirsty, and not too leafy.

  • Sprinkles

The only way I can make myself mark all these essays is by bribing me with doughnuts. It seems to be working.

That’s it – the exam exec board meeting is over, & the results will be posted soon. Our first batch of students have passed through their first two years of study. Good luck to them. Next week I can get back to the first years’ teaching, exam & coursework, but not before lots of whisky…

The word “Ill” is great in most fonts, if the “i” is capitalised. It makes no sense at first glance. I’ve had a nasty cold virus or something similar for the last few days. It built up on Tuesday and then laid me out in bed asleep for most of the next two days. I’m…

    in ,

Valve are selling plush headcrabs in the run up to the release of Half-Life 2 Episode 1. An unbelievably excellent idea. I’ll be needing a plush crowbar to go with that. Preloading of the new Half-Life 2 episode begins via Steam this month, with activation on June 1st. Damn – I really am going to…

  • Textbooks

It seems to be the time of year for the publishers Lippincott, Williams and Wilkins to send out new versions of their textbooks to us lecturers. For those of you interested, Moore’s Essential Clinical Anatomy is now on edition 3, Langman’s Medical Embryology is on edition 10 (some nice additions in there), and there’s a…

  • Drowning in paper

    by

    in

I’m in the midst of marking and second marking a pile of 2000 word essays, and am about to receive 2 sets of 70-odd exam papers to mark from 2 exams this week, of which each paper deserves the same attention as all the others. Mondays, eh? Far too much coffee will be drank in…
